Intermot 2012: 2013 Ducati 848 EVO Corse Special Edition Announced

Intermot 2012: 2013 Ducati 848 EVO Corse Special Edition Announced:

We expected more from Ducati at the 2012 Intermot show as the Italian manufacturer makes its first appearance at the Cologne show under its new German owners at Audi and the Volkswagen Group. Instead, Ducati chose to keep its juiciest reveals for its home market at EICMA in November while revealing a number of color updates to returning models at Intermot.
Ordinarily, we’d call this disappointing but one look at the 2013 Ducati 848 EVO Corse changed our minds. Yes, it’s just a color update to the red and white version unveiled last year, but the matte black and matte gray color of what Ducati calls its Test Team livery and red trellis frame really stands out. Look for more pictures of the Corse Edition and the base model after the jump.
Apart from the new color, the only change on the Corse Edition is a new aluminum fuel tank which increases the 848 EVO’s fuel capacity by 0.66 gallons to 4.75 gallons while reducing the claimed dry weight by 2.2 pounds to 368 pounds.

The Corse Edition model comes with an eight-level traction control system and quickshift, fully adjustable Ohlins rear suspension and 330mm brake discs.
The engine is the same 90-degree V-Twin Testastretta Evoluzione Twin powering the base model 848 EVO which Ducati claims produces 138 hp at 10,500 rpm and 72.3 ft-lb. at 9750 rpm. Both versions use fully adjustable 43mm Showa forks and Brembo monobloc brake calipers, though the base model uses  320mm brake discs.
