Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition

The second generation Panamera is still a few years away, so until it debuts, we’ll have to take solace in the many iterations Porsche is providing of the current model. One of them is the special Platinum Edition based on both the Panamera and Panamera 4 versions. This special edition will go on sale at the end of November 2012 at a starting price of $80,500.
The new Panamera Platinum Edition will be distinguished by selected design features in Platinum Silver on the air-inlet grille lamellas, lower half of the side view mirrors, the trim on the trunk lid, the rear diffuser, and on the air vent grille on the side. The final touch a special set of 19-inch Panamera Turbo alloy wheels with the red, black, and gold Porsche crest.
For the interior, this special edition gets an exclusive part-leather interior package and a number of other color and material combinations.

Porsche has unveiled a very cool video featuring the new Porsche 911 Carrera S during a very hot lap around the Nürburgring track. With racing driver Timo Kluck behind the wheel, the car managed an impressive lap time of 7:37.9 minutes. This an impressive result considering, at the vehicle’s official launch, Porsche had announced that the car could lap the ’Ring in 7:40.

In 2006, Porsche added the Turbo S trim level to its Cayenne lineup, which brought the sport SUV’s already impressive output up to 520 horsepower. The 2007 model year was a one-year break for the Cayenne and when it returned in 2008, the Turbo S was not offered, but it did return again for the 2009 and 2010 model years. It looks like Porsche is going to try again, as it just announced that the Turbo S will make its triumphant return in the 2013 model year.
Much like the 911 Turbo S, the Cayenne Turbo S will share most of its styling and DNA with the step-down Turbo model. The biggest changes between the Turbo and Turbo S models will be some basic creature comfort additions, handling and braking changes, and most importantly, more power!
With the world of performance SUVs starting to get slightly crowded, how well can the top-line Cayenne Turbo S do in this quickly flooding marketplace? Does it really have enough additions over the Turbo model to constitute a price hike and how much is the price hike?

No one except the top guns at Porsche really know whether the newly released Panamera Sport Turismo Concept will ever reach production or not. That said, if you are a fan of its styling cues, particularly the headlights and taillights (which we definitely are), you are in for a good surprise. Porsche has just announced that these cues will be transferred to the entire Porsche lineup.
