Lamborghini is adding another race car to its Blancpain Super Trofeo series, which covers six race weekends in different venues with 58 drivers. Their 2013 season will benefit from the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo that was unveiled this past Sunday with a new look for the Italian automaker’s customer racing program.
The new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 street version, but adds a look more appropriate for racing. Its added elements include a new spoiler design, a new rear diffuser, and new wheel arches.
We don’t expect to see any changes under the hood, so the car will most likely retain its usual 5.2-liter V10 engine with 570 HP.

Lamborghini unveiled the new Gallardo LP560-4 back at the 2012 Paris Auto Show in September, but only displayed the model in coupe form. We expected the Spyder version to come about sometime during a future auto show, but the the images of the drop top variant have unceremoniously surfaced online. This is an interesting move from Lamborghini considering that no information has been unveiled in the past few weeks which would make any of us think this was coming.
The only major difference we can see between the Spyder and the Coupe is the missing roof. There is also a "New Gallardo" logo in the front bumper to distinguish this new version of the Gallardo.
Under the hood, Lamborghini will keep the usual 5.2-liter V-10 DOHC engine that delivers a total of 552 HP at 8,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. Because of the addition of the heavier roof, the performance numbers will be slightly lower than in the coupe version, which does the 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 201 mph.

There’s one time each year when no grown man worries about walking around wearing or driving something pink and that is during Brest Cancer Awareness month. Even in the NFL, grown men are beating the hell out of each other rocking pink gloves, socks, or other random pink things.
Well, the equivalent of strapping in a pink mouthpiece in the automotive industry is tossing a coat of pink on your car. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, TopSpeed is checking out all of the pink cars we have seen in recent years and laying them out for you, top-10 style.
In this contest, we need to look into the dedication of the pink coloring (real or wrap), the overall car coolness factor, and, of course, its raw power. Fortunately for us, driving a pink supercar is nothing out of the ordinary, so we have tons of entrants to choose from. If we skipped one of your favorites, let us know in the comments section.
Click past the jump to start our top-10 countdown to the best pink car of 2012.

With its acquisition spending-spree apparently over – for now – Volkswagen has turned its attention to developing its current models, which are plentiful. Two models, however, are likely receiving the wrong kind of attention, as Reuters is reporting the Lamborghini and Bentley may see their respective SUVs – the Urus and EXP 9 F Concept – delayed.

Just days after Heffner Performance launched their package for the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera to an 8.72 second quarter mile at 169 mph, Underground Racing is answering back with a Superleggera package of their own. The difference? Underground Racing’s Gallardo has made Heffner Performance’s quarter mile record time a distant and short-lived memory. The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera by Underground Racing ran the quarter mile in 8.35 seconds at a speed of 181 mph.
The new Gallardo Superleggera package was specially developed for a customer who gave Underground Racing the following guidelines: "Do anything you want to it! As long as it drives like a street car and is the baddest Gallardo on the planet."
As a result of the not-so-strict guidelines, the Gallardo Superleggera by Underground Racing received a Stage 3 engine upgrade for its 5.2L V10 engine, "Quiet" Helix Billet 1st - 6th gear set and final drive gears, and a full "factory synchronized" transmission that uses all of the OEM E-Gear operating system. These additions gave way to a monstrous 1,750+ WHP (1,100 on pump gas), all while maintaining its street-legal status. The only other added feature is the new set of 18" wheels from HRE, but who really cares when you’re talking about a Gallardo Superleggera that produces that much giddy-up?
